China gets 1200 acres in Trincomalee for ‘defence development’

Around 1200 acres of land in the Trincomalee Town and Gravets division has recently been given to China on a long-term lease for ‘defence related development’ by genocidal Sri Lanka occupying the country of Eezham Tamils. An ‘agreement’ in this regard has been signed when Rajapaksa visited China, after Modi government coming to power in New Delhi, news sources in Trincomalee said. The stretch of land at the strategic China Bay area includes more than 20 warehouses that are in use since British times, temples, mosques, schools and houses. Meanwhile, TNA leader R. Sampanthan is privately advising Tamil activists not to raise any qualms about India getting the grabbed land at Champoor in Trincomalee, the news sources further said. China Bay and Champoor are located on the opposite sides of the Koddiyaara Bay of Trincomalee.
The lands given to China are located on the Western side of the Inner Harbour, around the military area coming from British colonial times and presently stationed by the occupying Sinhala military.
The area from Prima flourmill to Karumalai-oottu, including Ve’l’lai-ma’nal and Clappenburg Bay are given to China.
Cod Bay, China Bay, Malay Bay, Snug Bay, Clappenburg Bay and Deadman’s Cove are the bays on the western side of the Inner Harbour at Trincomalee. Champoor, where people are uprooted for India to get an enclave is located right across, on the southern side of the Koddiyaara Bay.
The China Bay area and the Prima flourmill surroundings are already Sinhalicised. A part of the land that is now given to China was wasteland under forest department. This was recently militarised. The remaining lands are private lands belonging to Tamils and Tamil-speaking Muslims. Most of the inhabitants are Muslims. In the recent past Muslims have chased away Tamils from the area. Now their lands are taken over for militarised Sinhalicisation. Around 450 families are going to lose their homes. The Muslim leadership is silent.

Colombo’s plan is two-fold: Sinhalicising Trincomalee on one hand to have the demographic control, and on the other hand converting it into a functioning major military base of international importance, so that all the powers in the world have to be always in negotiating terms with the Sinhala-Buddhist State in Colombo.
In fact, the genocidal demographic engineering carried out by Colombo in the country of Eezham Tamils in the North and East of the island is a much more permanent threat to India than China getting land in Trincomalee, commented Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.
Confident of its strategic importance and the readiness of the world Establishments in compromising with genocide, the Sinhala-Buddhist State in Colombo is now engaged in building its own chain in the southern oceans, involving Latin American countries, South Africa, Seychelles and the Maldives.
The interests of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa), shameful prostrations of Australia to Colombo, competing with Bolivia in giving ‘peace and democracy’ certificate to Rajapaksa, and South Africa embarking on a deceptive reconciliation at the behest of Colombo, primarily seeking amnesty to Rajapaksa regime, have to be understood in a larger perspective. Apart from strategic interests, there are business-minded personalities in the South African move, informed circles say.
A careful perusal of the NPC chief minister C.V. Wigneswaran’s statement on the visit of the South Africa delegation would reveal in between the lines the existing competition between the USA and India over the island on one hand and the third escape route taken up by Colombo through South Africa.
Mahinda Rajapaksa ‘rewarding’ Beijing, New Delhi and Washington is understandable. But for what thanksgiving and for getting what, Tamils have to keep quiet is the question.

Tamils, in the history of their civilisation that should be always remembered by posterity, should never hide the fact that the genocidal war against them was primarily coursed by Washington, London and New Delhi, and was executed through the Sinhala-Buddhist State in Colombo.
Washington, London and New Delhi could very well have achieved their ambitions by upholding the righteously logical solution to the national question in the island. But the arrogance of imperialism chose the course of genocide and continues to deny recognition of fundamentals.
Keeping quiet when there is nothing practically achieved or in sight, is neither diplomacy nor a way of struggle. It will only pave way for building a collaborating power circle within Tamils, which the adversaries who committed the genocide wanted to happen with Tamils.
The generation of Sampanthan and Wigneswaran in their stage of life need not worry about building power centres of collaboration around them. They should rather direct the national struggle as a national struggle, said Tamil activists for alternative politics in the island.
